Motion Control Engineer, ref 108
You will be part of Robotics in Västerås. Robotics develops, manufactures and markets robots and associated control systems, software, arc welding products, tracks and motor packages. We have bases in Västerås, Jönköping and the Gothenburg area in Sweden. Over 90% of our production goes to export and our customers include all major auto manufacturers. The auto industry and its sub suppliers and to an increasing extent general industry, such as the food industry, are automating their production with robots. Welding, machine tending, materials management, grinding, packaging and assembly are the most common applications. Our robots and robotics are sold via local ABB companies and via independent systems integrators and OEM companies – companies we call our Partners.  
 
Tasks  
As Motion Control Engineer, you will be part of the Motion Control group – a world-leading unit of 20 coworkers all experts in industrial robot control. You will design and implement software as well as interact with associated engineering disciplines concerning the robots’ functionality. Other parts of your responsibilities will involve managing minor functions and development activities. You will test, verify and troubleshoot – both in our lab environment and sometimes at our customers’ sites. Last but not least, you will work closely with our customers and local sales teams located all over the world.  
 
Requirements  
A minimum requirement, is that you hold a Master in Engineering with specialization in Automatic Control Engineering or Mechatronics. Furthermore, you are familiar with C/C++, Matlab and Maple, or other equivalent programs used for mathematical calculations and simulations. Experience from working with path planning and optimization in real time systems is beneficial. Fluency in English is a must, written and spoken alike.
